Training towels

Using a workout towel is an important part of proper gym etiquette. Many gyms and even small fitness studios provide appropriate towels. More and more conscious exercisers are deciding to purchase their own workout towels. This is due to maintaining a level of comfort in the gym during exercise, as well as the desire to maintain proper hygiene of the training machines.

Whether you are a fitness enthusiast, personal trainer, or gym owner, it is worth knowing the unique features of high-quality gym towels and what they mean.

What are the benefits of a good gym towel?

When looking for the best workout towels, most people will choose those with a level of softness and thickness that is satisfactory for them. However, the most important thing to consider is their absorbency. We should also choose towels that do not take too long to dry. We should also remember about weight. This will be especially important if we do not have a locker dedicated to us at the gym, so we will have to bring everything we need for training with us.

Here are the main factors to consider when looking for the best gym towels:

1. Material from which the towel is made:

be-Cotton is the most common material for gym towels – and for good reason. Cotton is soft to the touch, relatively thick, and its fibers provide excellent absorbency. It is a very good material for general-purpose gym towels. However, gym towels can be made from other materials that will have slightly different utility values. These include:

– Cotton and polyester blends
-Microfiber
- Flax
-Bamboo

2. Size and weight of a gym towel

Towels are usually measured in fabric density, measured in g/m2. Towels that weigh less are thinner and wear out faster. If you plan on using your gym towel every day, you may prefer a heavier towel that will withstand repeated washing, but the heavier the towel, the more moisture it will retain. So we must remember that such a towel should be washed after each use.

Many people prefer small, easy-to-pack workout towels. The first thing to consider when determining the optimal size workout towel is the length of your workout. If your gym workouts last an hour or more, or are focused primarily on aerobic exercise, consider a slightly larger towel. If your workouts typically last 20 minutes, a standard-sized towel will likely be fine.

3. Absorbency of training towels

The main feature of a good quality training towel will be its ability to absorb excess sweat produced during training. Every training towel should consist of loops in the weave of the fabric. The loops in a training towel allow for the absorption of sweat or water. The more loops in training towels, the greater their absorbency and therefore - comfort in use.

4. How quickly gym towels dry

The thinner the towel, the quicker it will dry. Thinner towels also wear out faster than their thicker, fluffier counterparts. They are also cheaper to buy.
